Watershed & Natural Resource Programs
Since NEMCOG's inception in 1968 as the Federally Designated Water Quality Planning Agency, many grants have been awarded to protect and enhance the pulic's high quality lakes, streams, drinking water and forests. As funds have diminished throughout the years, the agency has collaborated with Huron Pines as well as Conservation Districs and others to ensure efforts continue to be implemented for retaining the quality that is critically important to the residents of the region as well as supporting the tourist based industry these resources provide.
