Access Your Community's Fiscal Database powered by Munetrix...
In response to the financial challenges facing local governments, NEMCOG, in partnership with Munetrix, is providing members with comparable fiscal data for all Northeast Michigan communities. Use this database to identify trends, compare yourself to other communities, and assess the risk for emergency financial management. Click the link above to access the data. In addition, NEMCOG has purchased an edit license which allows us to update community demographic information and add/edit fiscal data for local units in the region. Local units that would like to have NEMCOG perform this service would need to purchase access rights to the system.
Munetrix Helps Communities Satisfy New Transparency Requirements...
Governor Rick Snyder has mandated that communities provide a Citizen's Guide to Local Unit Finances and Performance Dashboard, saying: "The purpose of the Citizens Guide is to provide a more transparent understanding of local unit finances for citizens. The intent is to provide a simple graphical presentation of the most important financial measures, in a manner that should be easily understood by the average citizen that does not possess a high level of financial expertise." Beginning October 1, 2011, units of local government receiving statutory revenue sharing under PA 140 will now have to meet certain requirements to be eligible to receive a percentage of the total revenue sharing appropriated.
