Rebuild Michigan: Northern Michigan Regional Technical Assistance Program

cover_image.jpgNEMCOG offers free assistance to Northern Michigan to become more energy efficient!

 

NEMCOG has been designated as a Rebuild Michigan Regional Technical Assistant (RTA). The Rebuild Michigan Program is administered by the Michigan Energy Office (MEO). A US Department of Energy designated state energy office, the MEO operates as a division of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Through the Rebuild Michigan Program, with assistance from the RTAs, the MEO works to promote increased energy efficiency within Michigan communities. As an RTA, NEMCOG assists in the performance of Introductory Energy Evaluations (IEEs) and energy efficiency outreach and education.

NEMCOG will provide an introductory energy evaluation free of charge to Rebuild Michigan Community Clients.


An Introductory Energy Evaluation includes:

  • Utility Bill Analysis.
  • On-Site Walk Through Inspection.
  • Recommendations for operational and maintenance improvements.
  • Recommendations for energy efficiency upgrades.
  • Planning Assistance to identify resources for implementing energy efficiency improvements.

Become a Rebuild MI Community Client (RMCC) now to take advantage of the free service. Simply fill out this enrollment form and return it to NEMCOG to get started.


Other benefits of becoming an RMCC include:

  • EnergyStar benchmarking for eligible buildings
  • Listing of energy consultants to conduct technical energy analyses
  • Quality review of each completed technical energy analysis report
  • Low cost project financing through the Michigan Municipal Bond
  • Authority to purchase energy efficiency improvements
  • A repayment schedule structured around the project's energy savings rate
  • Project monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Qualify to obtain subsidized energy/facility training through MEO
