REDUCE the amount of material requiring disposal.
o Avoid over-packaged or disposable items
o Buy products in bulk or economy sizes
o Buy durable, repairable products that will last longer

o Offer unwanted clothing, furniture, and toys to friends or donate to charity.
o Pass along unwanted magazines & books to hospitals or nursing homes.
o Try repairing household appliances before replacing.
