Counties Covered:
The plan will cover 21 counties of northern Michigan: Alcona, Alpena, Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Crawford, Emmet Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Iosco, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, Montmorency, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Otsego, Presque Isle, Roscommon, and Wexford.
Agencies Involved:
The Northeast Michigan Council of Governments is working with Networks Northwest and the Michigan Department of Transportation to collaboratively develop the North Region Active Transportation Plan.
Goals:
The goal of this plan is to highlight major gaps in the nonmotorized transportation network in the North Region so they can be filled during future projects to enhance connectivity and mobility across a system for all users. By working within each of the planning regions, an inventory of nonmotorized connections will be reviewed by local partners and governments to engage stakeholders and provide the best insight into local conditions and challenges.
